Comment:

re-rated january 2008; courtesy of Raphaël Mettler - cloudy dark amber colour under an irregualar foam formed mainly of big bubbles; fair flowery hoppiness, definitely less fruity than last time; notes of pine needles; good malt backbone supporting a very strong bitterness; some astringence; dry and long bitter hoppy finish where the woody and flowery notes dominate - I still have trouble to realise this is a swiss beer ... nice work Raphaël!

june 2006 - pours a slightly hazy reddish-amber colour with little foam remaining; aroma of cream and apricot, orange; a very sharp, astringent bitterness takes immediately control of the palate; oily and with a good malt body; long dry and bitter finish showing some flowery notes and where the fruity tones stay in the background - this is a good, but a bit too one-dimensional, hop potage (4/7/7/4/13)
